It’s not too challenging to dodge his orb attack if you time your jumps well. The Stevari is a floating skeleton with a lot of health and a strong explosive attack. What Does Angering the Gods Do?ĭon’t let the Stevari trap you into a dead-end.Īngering the gods summons a difficult enemy at every Holy Mountain shop from then on. The No Worm Destruction mod in our Best 15 Noita Mods to Install article removes damage from worms and spiders. Spider creatures found deeper in Noita can also damage the brickwork. After a certain distance, liquids like acid destroy the brickwork and anger the gods. The portal on each floor that leads to the Holy Mountain is bypassable if you dig straight down. Similar to the worm breaking into the Holy Mountain shop, it’s possible other sources can damage it too. Later shops will still have a breakable Worm Crystal for further danger. When the Worm Crystal breaks this message appears, “You feel less safe.” Worms are no longer repelled from this Holy Mountain shop specifically. However, for players wanting more danger, they can break into the small chamber where the Worm Crystal is and destroy it. Before the Worm Crystal update, it was more common that worms would break the brickwork and force the “You have angered the gods” message to appear. The Worm Crystal was added to Noita to prevent worms from breaking into the Holy Mountain. The second reason below for angering the gods in Noita explains what the Worm Crystal does. A normal bomb like the one on your starting wand creates a tunnel to the left of the Worm Crystal. The Worm Crystal hidden beneath the purchasable spells has a water pool to the left of it. There’s one area that you can still blow up with a bomb without angering the gods. However, if you damage the brickwork enough with certain spells, this will anger the gods. The brickwork walls and floors that surround the Holy Mountain are difficult to break with normal spells and bombs. Take a look below for how you angered the gods, whether intentionally or not: How to Anger the Gods in Noita Breaking the brickwork in Holy Mountain The Holy Mountain between floors where spells and perks are is the only area that this pops up. I honestly assumed it would be resolved before the official release, but it is still happening very frequently and I think that's a shame. The Holy Mountain in Noita is usually a safe place unless this message suddenly appears, “You have angered the gods.” Most people are confused about why this message appears and how they angered the gods. I was active on this sub in 2019 during early access, and this issue was commonly discussed. Is there anything I can do to fix this or am I just stuck? Having just lost a run after ice caves because of a sudden Steve attack, it's difficult to feel motivated to play at all when this sort of thing can happen without warning. Two of those have featured random Steve attacks due to enemies (once a worm, once a spider) burrowing too close to the Holy Mountain. I've only played about ten runs, maybe less, since the 1.0 release. ![]() But it appears that they are still burrowing close enough to cause this issue. I know that the worm crystals were added to the game to stop worms from burrowing into the Holy Mountain. Steve is a difficult fight depending on what tools you have, and having to fight him without warning can be a quick way to end your run for basically no reason. This is just about the worst problem I have with Noita. However, I am sad to see that the issue still persists where you will sometimes get the "you have angered the gods" message due to enemy activity, causing you to be ambushed by Steve. I have recently revisited Noita after the 1.0 release, and have been enjoying the game as I used to. ![]()
